On July 9, 2006
Donald (Don) Gene Bennett, age 55, went home to be with the Lord in
perfect peace.
Don was born on July 19, 1950, to Maney and Irene Bennett in Macomb,
MO. He was a proud union member of the International Association of Heat
and Frost and Asbestos Workers, Local No. 27, and attended church at
Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Greenfield, MO.
Don married Margie Bennett on September 4, 1971. From this marriage
came three children, Donnie, of Jorgan; Heather, of Joplin, MO; and
Summer of Joplin. Additional survivors include his father, Maney
Bennett; five siblings, Wilma Gray, Bobby Bennett, Pat Blackwell, Ronnie
Bennett and Randay Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews; and two
grandchildren, Landon Cole and Ashley Hicks, who always made him smile.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Bennett, in 2005.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, in Glad
Tidings Assembly of God Church in Greenfield with Pastor Ron Dykes
officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call
at their convenience in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
